The McMeel Family Faculty Institute on Service-Learning supports faculty in incorporating service-learning into their classes and research agendas.
The institute comprises two programs: the McMeel Fellows Program for faculty new to service-learning and the McMeel Scholars Program for faculty more experienced in community-based teaching.
McMeel Fellows Program
The McMeel Fellows Program starts with a three-day, hands-on course redesign workshop where facilitators guide participants through the steps of developing a service learning project that meets authentic community needs and aligns with academic learning outcomes. McMeel Fellows contribute to service-learning at 麻豆破解传媒 by engaging in compelling and stimulating community-based learning experiences for students and disseminating knowledge to their colleagues.

McMeel Scholars Program
The McMeel Scholars Program supports faculty experienced in service-learning and community-based teaching to include the scholarship of teaching and learning of these practices into their research agendas. The Scholars Program is a two-year cohort model in which participants learn best practices to community-based SOTL research, conduct and disseminate their research.
for the 2024- 2026 cohort are now available. Program begins in February 2024 with McMeel Scholars Symposium in December 2025. Applications are due January 31, 2024.
